During the afternoon of Thursday 8th December, the whole school were excited to meet some special visitors: two reindeer named Ambrose and Disco, along with their elf trainers. Children learnt all kinds of facts about their new furry friends: reindeer antlers and how they are different between males and females; how reindeer stay hygienic, even when needing the loo; and how they manage to stay warm in such cold conditions as in the North Pole.

Max, a child in Year 6, said, “It was fantastic to get to see reindeer in real life.” Whilst Jamie, another Year 6 pupil, also went on to say, “It was the first time I’ve ever touched one – it felt so furry.”

It was certainly an exciting way to spend a Thursday afternoon and a great event in our lead up to Christmas.
