Regional finals of the English schools table tennis team championships

On Saturday 3^rd February 2018 Freddie, Finley, Lewis and Dylan had a tough competition in Blackburn. One school did not turn up so that left 3 schools’ to battle it out; Victoria Dock from the north-east, Great Wood from Blackpool and Bramley from Rotherham who were last year’s champions!

We put up a strong fight, showing lots of resilience, the standard was amazing and was incredible experience for our youngsters who definitely learnt some valuable lessons to take forward into future games. Unfortunately we did not advance to the next round of the competition which would have been the Final to represent the north of England against the South.

After each member of the team having 2 games each against opponents from the other schools’, we finished in 3^rd place, winning 2 games out of 8 against each school. Well done boys, you did VDPS proud! Great team effort!
