This week we have been learning all about instruction writing in Year 2. The children have been reading Katie Morag’s Baking Day Secret so we were lucky enough to use one of her special recipes to make ‘porridges’.
The children were able to weigh, measure, mix and stir the ingredients, working together to make some yummy porridges. We also took turns to read the recipe to ensure we were following it correctly.
At the end of the day the children were able to make a den (just like Katie in the story) and talk about all of the fun we had on our very own baking day.
