Following being crowned Hull School’s champions, our girls table tennis team made it through to the Northern Zone Finals.
On Saturday 31st January, the team (Phoebe, Lana, Isabella, Lucy and Eva) had an early start, leaving Hull at 08:00 to make the journey to Billingham near Sunderland to take part in the finals.
The team’s first match was very closely fought and after 8 sets both teams were tied on 4 sets each. After a nail biting count back of games, our team scraped to victory, winning by one game 17-16. The next match saw us take on previous national champions, although all the team put up a good fight, on the day, the opposing team took victory.
Our team finished second on the day and secured their place in the Regional Finals in Grantham in March. They are now all training hard in preparation for the big event. Well done to all the girls who took part – great team work and support to each other throughout the whole event.
