On Wednesday, Foundation 2 went on their very first trip to The Scrapstore. Our minibus journey caused much excitement, which only continued as we arrived and began to investigate the ‘scrap’ that was available. We found some “squishy” foam material, which all of us wanted a squeeze of and somebody found a tiny tube that they guessed would have come from a roll of ‘fairies toilet paper’ (much to the amusement of the staff who heard).
After our tour, we entered the hall where we began to assemble our ‘fairytale’ puppets. We had to follow lots of difficult instructions in order to complete the steps necessary to create either a ‘pig’ or a ‘wolf’. It was interesting to see children making choices with regard to tape, materials for t-shirts and choices for decorative features…. many of us particularly liked the snap mouths of the wolves.
Once our puppets were finished, we were keen to return to school to bring our characters to life! Thank you Scrapstore!
